AUST takes part in pharmacy meet

DUBAI — Ajman University of Science and Technology Network (AUST) has participated in the fifth international Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy, Counterfeit Drugs organised by University Science Malaysia (USM).

Dr Tarek Al Zubaidi and Dr Khairi Mustafa represented AUST Network in the event presenting a research work on Awareness of Counterfeited Drugs among Students. More than 300 scientists from a round the world from Asia, the UK, the US and other countries took part in the event.

Dr Al Zubaidi said: “The main objective of participating in this major event was to be part of the global campaign against fake drugs, and to contribute to the awareness that a number of NGOs specially educational institutions are currently running.”

Dr Khairi said, “It is essential to organise regular awareness campaign among the community to protect them from the danger and adverse effect of these drugs. The educational institutions are having great role to play in the whole process of fighting counterfeit drugs, therefore, our participation was essential and will continue in the future.”
