Ajman Ruler orders release of 65 prisoners
AJMAN — His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, has ordered the release of 65 prisoners, both nationals and expatriates, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Ajman Police Director-General Colonel Ali Abdullah Alwan told Khaleej Times yesterday.
Col Alwan said that the outstanding loan amounts of prisoners who had defaulted in payments would be settled by some benefactors.
The released expatriates will be deported to their countries while UAE nationals will be watched by the police. For instance, drug addicts will be provided rehabilitation and a job to start a new life and the police will keep an eye on them until their conduct is deemed fit for contributing to social development.
