The rescue teams from Al Jarf industrial areas and fire stations of civil defence reached the site in less than four minutes. They removed the workers from under the debris and rushed them to the hospital. The workers were carrying out excavation work behind the house when its wall suddenly caved in.
He added that the quick response of the rescue units went a long way in saving the lives of the workers. They conducted accurate and professional rescue operation to protect the workers and not add to their injuries. The site has been handed over to the police forensic experts to determine the cause of the accident, Al Jumaira said.
He urged the contracting companies to implement the prescribed safety procedures and conditions to prevent accidents at workplaces.
