Art in Schools workshop harness young talent

Dubai - Creative children's workshops convey numerous constructive and educational morals and lessons.

The Cultural Office of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum organised creative children's workshops in partnership with Art Dubai as part of the Art in Schools initiative.
The workshops, held under the Sheikha Manal Little Artists programme, offered students a contemporary and creative educational experience during which they were able to harness their artistic skills, explore their imagination, and discover new creative tools and techniques.
Al Maha Al Bastaki, director of The Cultural Office, said: "We are pleased with the role of the Art in Schools Initiative in increasing the interest in discovering young creative talents. Working on developing the artistic skills of children and the youth through creative and innovative programmes that convey constructive and educational morals and lessons is of great importance."
Artist Sally Curcio conducted the workshops in Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Basic Education, Al Mizhar School for Boys, Latifa School for Girls, and Rashid School for Boys under the theme of "Creating New Worlds". Sally Curcio invited students to unleash their creativity to build small cityscapes and urban landscapes through the use of miniatures, allowing them to assemble their own imaginative worlds.
The workshops were carried out with the aim to motivate an inventive spirit, as well as encourage students to explore how a variety of materials can be used to create imagined environments. Materials such as coloured beads, pipe cleaners, blocks, bottle caps, and other recycled material were used to create the new worlds.
 "The longstanding partnership between The Cultural Office and Art Dubai offers such creative programs of the highest caliber and quality.
