The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation posted a series of tweets regarding travel arrangements to Canada.
This is light of the recent announcement exempting Emirati citizens from Canadian visa requirements.
The first tweet reads: "UAE nationals holding diplomatic, special, mission and ordinary passports should apply for an electronic Travel Authorisation before landing in #Canada via canada.ca/eta. The #eTA costs $7 CAD (Dh20) and will enter into effect on June 5 at 1:30pm UAE time."

The second tweet continues, "The eTA is valid for 5 years or until the passport expires. Duration of stay is 6 months per visit."
In the third installment of tweets, the Ministry posted: "UAE Natioals: Diplomatic, special, mission and ordinary passport holders do not require and electronic Travel Authorisation when arriving by car, bus, train or cruise ship to the Canadian territory.
The eTA allows Canadian officials to screen travellers for admissibility before they board their flight to Canada.
Emiratis will be able to apply online for an eTA after 5:30am ET (1:30pm Gulf Standard Time) on June 5.
