It was a hilarious start to the day for employees of a tech startup when an umbrella got them locked out of office. It all began when the staff returned to work on Monday and saw an umbrella left leaning against a wall had fallen down and blocked the sliding door of their office.
According to BuzzFeed, the umbrella had blocked the door in such a way that the every possible effort turned out to be futile. Mike, one of the employees locked out of office, sent a picture of the blocked door to his friend Neeraj K. Agrawal who in turn posted the photo on Twitter.
Agrawal wrote along with the photo: 'My friend's entire company is locked out of their WeWork office because an umbrella fell, jamming the door. No one can figure it out.
It's been like this for 2 days'. The tweet went viral with several people coming up with bizarre ideas to open the jammed door.

Speaking to BuzzFeed, Mike said, "The whole room is, essentially, a geometric cube of glass with an umbrella tucked in an impossibly perfect position. I really appreciate everyone's ideas on Twitter, but we tried everything." Mike added, "In a thousand years, you'd not be able to replicate this. The umbrella has turned our office into, essentially, an unmanned panic room with no way in. We were baffled."
Finally, on Tuesday night an engineer drilled a hole in the ceiling above the door, snaked a wire down to the floor, and managed to move the umbrella. The employees were able to open the door freely. "During exile, four of us had to share a single MacBook and iPhone charger. It was actually pretty rough," Mike added.
