Austrian officials say crews looking for graves of World War II combatants have found a grave containing the bodies of up to 30 Soviet soldiers.
State-run broadcaster ORF cites Peter Sixl, who is leading the search, as saying the grave was found near the village of Welten, near the Hungarian border, after single graves were found nearby.
Sixl said Tuesday that the men fell during the final days of combat in Austria. Also unearthed were six live grenades, which were made harmless or transported to a safe location.
The mass grave was found Monday, with digging scheduled to continue.
