‘PPP served poor across the country’
ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari has said that during the PPP tenure, the government combed through the length and breadth of the country to identify the poor to provide financial assistance to them.
He expressed these views on the occasion of his visit to Kahuta at a dinner hosted by Ghulam Murtaza Satti, PPP President of Rawalpindi District, and Senate Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto was also present on the occasion.
The president said the PPP started the Benazir Income Support Programme to help the poor financially.
