A Saudi woman lost her hands and a leg after undergoing a plastic surgery.
According to Al Arabiya, the doctor who conducted the surgery has been arrested by the Saudi Health Committee.
The process involved fat transfer from the stomach of the woman to her rear end. Soon after the surgery, the health of the woman deteriorated.
She was admitted to a hospital where doctors had to amputate both her hands and her right leg to save her. The investigation conducted in the case found that that it took the doctor two hours to conduct the surgery using local anesthetic which is a violation of regulations.
The procedure was conducted in the doctor's clinic at a medical complex. It was also found that the theater where the surgery had taken place lacked devices to monitor vital signs.
There were no oxygen masks, cardiopulmonary resuscitation carts and bag-valve-mask ventilation. A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is underway.
