Most wanted 'MQM hit man' arrested by Rangers

Islamabad - Earlier the Rangers produced three alleged target killers before an anti-terrorism court in Karachi which remanded the suspects to Rangers' custody for interrogation.

Pakistan Rangers Sindh have arrested a target killer associated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) during a search operation in Karachi's Azizabad neighbourhood early on Tuesday.
Earlier the Rangers produced three alleged target killers before an anti-terrorism court in Karachi which remanded the suspects to Rangers' custody for interrogation. "Mohammed Kashif alias David, who belongs to the MQM, is a most wanted criminal in multiple targeted killing and terrorism incidents," Rangers official Colonel Faisal told media representatives in Karachi.
He said the operation was carried out on a tip-off close to MQM's Nine Zero headquarters.
A cache of weapons and ammunition, including kalashnikovs, light machine guns (LMGs) and Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG), and Rangers uniforms were recovered during the operation, in which several houses were searched.
The suspect was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. In a related development, an anti-terrorism (ATC) court on Monday sentenced Ali Haider Shah aka Ali Kala, activist of the MQM militant wing, to 33 years of rigorous imprisonment, said a statement released by Sindh Rangers.
The ATC convicted Shah of possession of illegal arms, explosive materials, causing hindrance in government operations and attempted murder, added the statement.
