The jobs are expected to be available over the next three years. 
11,000 jobs in sales as well as the distribution sector are expected to be available in Oman over the next three years.
The sector already employs 14 per cent of the total workforce available in Oman, making it the second largest employer following the construction sector.
This was revealed in a meeting the officials held with the Shura Council in Oman which took place to further the concern regarding the employment of the national workforce. 
According to a report in the Times of Oman, the meeting comprised of an assembly of the Members of the Youth and Human Resources Committee at the Shura Council along with the representative of the Omanisation Committees in the sales and distribution sector along with the companies functioning in the sector.
A comparison of the percentage of Omanisation already achieved in the sector was also compared to the proportion required by the government.
Moreover, the factories as well as the warehouses have also been called upon by the members of the Shura Council to lend support towards ensuring the employment and success of the Omanis.
