Indian photographer beats 50,000 entries to bag BBC Award
His winning picture was of an alley cat.
An Indian man has made history by winning a prestigious BBC wildlife photography award, indiatimes.com reported.
On Wednesday, 42-year-old Mumbai resident, Nayan Khanolkar was awarded the prestigious Urban Wildlife prize in London. He won the award for his picture, titled 'The Alley Cat'.
Khanolkar's entry was selected among 50,000 entries from 90 countries.
His pictures showcase a silent leopard sitting under the yellow-bulb lit between two mud-splattered homes.

The winners of the prestigious annual Wildlife Photography were announced recently, with Tim Laman being named the winner of the competition, for his image that captured a Bornean orangutan in the Indonesian rainforest.
All the images will be displayed at the Natural History Museum in London tomorrow, after which these photographs will tour the world.
