An anti-terrorism court in Karachi on Saturday declared Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain an absconder in a case filed by Rangers.
The court took action on a report by police that it could not arrest Altaf Hussain on a complaint filed by Karachi Rangers' spokesman Colonel Tahir. The police had registered a case for threatening to kill Tahir in a speech following a raid by Rangers on MQM headquarters in March.
The police while submitting a file of the case before the court stated that Altaf Hussain lives abroad and could not be arrested. The court deferred a ruling on a request by police to declare Altaf a 'proclaimed offender'. news@khaleejtimes.com
