An Air Arabia flight travelling between Sharjah and Chennai made an emergency landing at Goa Airport in the wee hours on Sunday after a woman passenger took ill, officials said.
"The flight was allowed to land as there was medical emergency on board. The passenger was evacuated and the flight took-off after that," Goa airport Director K S Rao told PTI.
The plane, which was on its way to Chennai, capital of south Indian state of Tamil Nadu, landed at the Goa airport at around 4:30am.
Airport sources said the 70-year-old woman (name not disclosed) developed chest pain mid-air due to which the pilot sought for emergency landing.
Rao said she was immediately referred to a private hospital in Vasco town in western Indian state of Goa, next to the airport.
