UAE-based swimmers, are you up for a challenge? A 16.1km open water swim off the South-eastern coast of Bangladesh, kind of challenge, to be precise...
Dubai charity founder Maria Conceicao is calling all swimmers to join her on the five-hour swim, on December 11 this year, to raise funds for the Maria Cristina Foundation, which currently helps 145 underprivileged Bangladeshi children (pictured left) attend "the best schools in Dhaka". The money raised will be used to pay the current year's school bills for the children, and potentially get a head start on next year's bill - a US$100,000 target.
A worthy cause, indeed - but novice swimmers will ideally need to train for three months in preparation. Experienced swimmers can still sign up now.

The fair - whose vision is for attendees to aspire to, access, and acquire art - will host international galleries and independent artists from various countries across the world, such as Korea, Switzerland, Egypt, Burma, Singapore, India and the UK, to name a few.
