Fear factor
One of the region's largest Hollywood-inspired theme parks, Motiongate Dubai, will host its first-ever Fright Nights, with park hours being extended to 11pm during these nights. Branded as "an exciting Halloween experience for visitors of all ages", the event will feature two horror zones with walking zombies, a self-styled Spooktacular Kids Halloween at the Hotel Transylvania Castle and a live Saw maze. The Fright Nights will take place only on weekends - from October 18 to November 3 (from 2 pm to 11 pm). Tickets are priced at Dh175 for UAE residents and Dh245 for non-residents. Happy feet

Awareness is power
Today, the Middle East Arthritis Foundation will hold a public event at the Shangri-La Hotel, starting 8am, to mark World Arthritis Day. From a detailed lowdown on its causes to valuable information on the treatment, the Foundation will host a number of activities like a fashion show and nutrition and pain management sessions.
