I'm a 14-year-old girl, and have a lot of dandruff and hair fall. My hair is thin and brittle and I have tried many shampoos to get rid of the dandruff, and get silky, soft hair, but in vain. Please suggest natural remedies for these problems.

Dandruff can come about due to poor diet, but also, due to an unclean scalp. Take 1 egg and beat it well; add 1 tablespoon yoghurt and 2 teaspoons lemon juice to it. Mix well and massage into a clean scalp. Yoghurt is a cleanser with anti-bacterial properties, lemon adds body and tones the scalp, and eggs are a rich source of protein. Do this treatment twice or thrice a week. Always clean your comb as well, to prevent any dandruff from getting back into your hair.
My 15-year-old son has a lot of pimples on his face. Please suggest some effective home treatments.

Apply a thin mask of aloe vera gel, with six drops of tea tree oil mixed into it. The aloe vera cleanses and helps calm the skin and the tea tree oil has anti-bacterial properties. This should be left on overnight. Your son must also improve his diet, and drink 10 to 12 glasses of water every day, avoid caffeine and carbonated drinks, and avoid spicy or oily foods. Consuming plenty of fresh, green leafy vegetables will help.
I'm a 13-year-old girl and have recently started experiencing severe hair fall. Also, I have tanned quite a bit this summer. Please suggest quick solutions for both.

Mix 3 tablespoons of warm coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of castor oil, 1 teaspoon of lime juice, and a pinch of black pepper together, and massage well into the scalp, followed by a steam treatment. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo. Do this thrice a week. Consume nutritious fruits like apples and bananas, and increase your intake of iron and protein by including yoghurt, chicken, fish and eggs into your diet. Get a blood test to rule out hormonal imbalances. To get rid of your tan, rub the pulp of a fresh, juicy tomato on the skin and leave overnight. Tomato is rich in vitamin C, which helps bleach the skin and shrink pores. Also, always wear sun protection when stepping out.
I'm facing severe hair fall. I have been taking supplements and trying many treatments, but nothing works. I can already see bald patches beginning to form on my scalp. Please suggest an effective remedy.

Make a paste of fenugreek leaves, and add a few drops of castor oil to it. Apply this paste on the bald patches, and leave it on overnight. Do this every day. Hopefully, you will see a difference soon. Fenugreek is an anti-fungal herb with rich nutrients. Castor oil activates hair growth - so this combination should really benefit you.
