The facilities are pretty extensive too. My masseuse took me through 12 treatment rooms before showing me the steam room, jacuzzi and relaxation area (separate for men and women). Even the lockers at the changing room are in theme with their red hue, intricate carvings and golden handles. It's hard not to be impressed.
Now B/Attitude spa has a number of treatments and packages for the discerning customer. I was sorely tempted by their Arabian Jewel Massage (an Arabian treatment in an Oriental Spa - doesn't get more 'Dubai' than that) but finally settled for A Trip to Freedom treatment. It promises a break from the stresses of daily life - and delivers on this, effortlessly.
Therapy time
After being given the choice between water and orange juice and being led through the dimly-lit corridors to my treatment room, my experience began with a foot wash in rose petal water. My masseuse then gave me a 60 minute, full body massage, concentrating on the back and even taking time to remove knots in my upper back by repeatedly kneading the area. This was followed by a pretty intensive facial. Soon, I lost count of the different ointments applied to my face - a moisturiser, toner, scrub, facepack - all specific to my skin type. They did manage to work like magic - my skin felt soft and supple when I left.
What we loved...
The interiors are absolutely lovely. It's easy for establishments to end up looking tacky or gimmicky when doing themes like this, but the attention to detail truly gives it a luxurious, soothing vibe. The service is warm and friendly, and the variety of treatments is impressive.
What we didn't...
As lovely as the spa is, once you're inside, it's a bit hard to find your way out! I admit I got rather lost in their maze-like interiors. Another con (and I'm nitpicking here) is that the treatment did not involve blackhead removal or steaming and that's something you usually expect in a facial.
