You're never too old to live life to the fullest. That's the overarching message of this heartfelt, vibrant and funny film on the life of a widow and former songstress Carol Peterson (Danner). Supported by her three closest friends Georgina (Squibb), Sally (Perlman) and Rona (Place), Carol decides to embrace life anew and explore her relationships, starting by reconnecting with her daughter. She discovers a new friendship with her pool maintenance man, and finds she can love again when she meets Bill, played by the delightful Sam Elliott. A touching reminder that age truly is no barrier.

The movie explores Whitey's secret trading deals with his brother, William "Billy" Bulger (Cumberbatch), a state senator and a noted public figure, FBI agent John Connolly (Edgerton) and the FBI's plan to take down the Italian mob in Boston.
