It threatened to rain for most part of the day with some areas of Sharjah reporting showers early in the morning. Residents in Deira, Dubai, also spoke of light showers earlier in the day. The overcast conditions may have spoiled plans of some happy desert campers, but many residents enjoyed the dip in temperature as the sun failed to show up.

The weather report said hazy weather would continue with clouds over most of areas of the country. The National Centre of Meteorology & Seismology (NCMS) said there is chance of rain on Saturday during the day. Temperatures will continue to remain low as “fresh, strong north-westerly winds will affect the country”. Fishermen and water sport enthusiasts are warned to stay away from the sea which could “turn very rough”.

The winds will stir up sand, thereby reducing visibility. Motorists are therefore urged to drive with caution.

Coastal regions of the country will experience highs of between 19 and 23 degree Celsius, and lows of 15 to 18 degree Celsius, while the mountainous regions can expect lows of 11 degree Celsius on Saturday.
