The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) are warning fishermen and motorists to be careful as rain and wind blastDubai, Abu Dhabi, Ruwais, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Dalma Island and some parts of the eastern emirates.

NCMS said conditions were the worst in the coastal and northern areas with wind causing dust and sand to blow and reduce visibility, while showers had occurred due to a drop in temperature.

Although no accidents were reported in the hazy conditions, the NCMS cautioned motorists to take extra care on the roads due to the low visibility and dust whipped up by winds in open areas.

It also advised members of the public not to venture out in to the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman over the next few days due to rough seas. The NCMS has forecast cloudy and dusty conditions today also, with cloud cover increasing over coastal and northern areas during the day and the chance of rain increasing towards the night.

Tomorrow, the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy, with a chance of some rain, especially over northern and eastern areas. Cloud will start to decrease gradually, especially in the western areas, with moderate north-westerly winds by night.

The bad weather comes as
regions around the world, including the UK and US, are facing harsh winter conditions and storms.
