Light rainfall in Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain on Sunday afternoon brought down temperatures in the emirates and surrounding areas.

The National Center of Meteorology & Seismology, in a series of tweets, said Suhaila and Al Madam in Sharjah, Falaj Al Moalla in Umm Al Quwain, and Jabal Hafeet in Al Ain have received moderate rainfall.

Earlier today, the weather bureau had warned that heat and humidity are likely to rise this week.

Temperatures will range from 40 to 47°C along the coast, 32 to 39°C in the mountains and 44 to 49°C in the interior regions, the department said.

The maximum humidity would be between 60 and 90 per cent across coastal regions, between 50 and 80 per cent in internal areas and 30 and 60 per cent in the mountains.
