The Sewage and Irrigation Network Department of Dubai Municipality, in cooperation with different departments and authorities, has completed the cleaning process of the city of Dubai after the heavy rain and bad weather all over the emirate.
Having developed an effective and integrated contingency plan to remove and discharge water clusters created by rainfalls on roads, squares and neighbourhoods in Dubai, the department has ensured better functioning service facilities.

Hassan Makki, the Director of Sewage and Irrigation Network Department and Head of the Rain Committee, said the rain did not cause any major damage as the work teams, technical and administrative people could successfully manage the situation.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology, the sea will continue to be rough for at least the next three days. However, this weather was to be expected at this time of year.

“The Contact Centre of the civic body has received only few notification calls on small incidents during and after the rain. Most of the calls were related to the traffic blocks due to heavy water-logs,” said Khalid Badri, Director of the Contact Centre.

Badri urged the public to inform the civic body by calling its hotline 800900 in case of any problems remaining in any area of the emirate.

The civic body also coordinated with other concerned departments and sections to fix tasks in the implementation of the plan both in terms of technical and professional support and of providing equipments and machinery required.
