This trend can be mainly attributed to factors like the growing presence of high net-worth individuals and the UAE’s removal from the FATF’s grey list
Speaking on the subject 'Media Campaign and News Dissemination' at the 17th Arab Media Forum in Dubai on Wednesday, Kuwaiti TV host Mohammed Al Mulla, said Al Jazeera is "trumpeting the lies of Muslim Brotherhood."
"It (Al Jazeera Media Network) is owned and funded by the government of Qatar and it is being used as a propaganda outlet of the Qatari government to promote the bankrupt ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood," Al Mulla told Khaleej Times after his speech.
He added that Al Jazeera should not hide behind the tenet of press freedom as its "objective is the collapse of other governments in the region."
Al Mulla noted that some of the "lies' peddled by Al Jazeera are false reports on the numbers of protests in Egypt. "They reported hundreds of thousands of demonstrators when all other media outlets were quoting less numbers," he noted.
He added that a day before Houthi rebels launched a missile, Al Jazeera already had the news about the incident.
Al Mulla said the public "should not listen to or watch any reports by Al Jazeera to protect them from false information."
"Watch other media channels; always verify reports from various sources," Al Mulla concluded.
Al Jazeera was initially launched as an Arabic news and current-affairs satellite TV channel and now has several television channels in multiple languages across the world.
