In light of the passing of Dubai Police Chief Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, UAE residents along with prominent figures in the UAE took to social media to extend their condolences. Both Facebook and Twitter have been overflowing with messages for the bereaved with the hashtag #????_???_??????? becoming number trending in Dubai.
Several prominent figures such as His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai have already extended their condolences on social media with the Dubai Ruler considering Al Mazeina as a 'heroic officer'.

User @mohd8ali meanwhile observed the grieving of the community as a sign of good governance in the UAE even thanking God that he is fortunate to live here.
@Aaamm_16 called Al Mazeina the 'man who makes sure people sleep safe and secure.'
