A 65-year-old Russian tourist drowned off Al Khan beach in Sharjah on Saturday afternoon. The police said the man who entered the country for tourism decided to enjoy the pleasant weather and went to Al Khan beach to swim. The police said the man was swimming in unauthorised areas where warning signs already existed.
The police said they received a call during the day about the incident and immediately dispatched the rescue unit, civil defence, coastal guards and an ambulance team who reached at the site brought to shore the body of the tourist.
The police then shifted the body to Al Kuwaiti hospital.
