Tenants of Torch tower in Dubai Marina expect to return to their flats soon, Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said on Sunday evening, after experts finished examining the scene of the incident.
Al Marri said mobile police posts had been stationed at the site in order to make it convenient for residents to file complaints about lost or missing belongings.
Several belongings had been collected by police officials, and logged in a lost-and-found database.
Special places were also assigned for representatives of consulates to interact with the residents who had lost important documents like passports and certificates.
Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Director of Dubai Civil Defense, said advance fire systems and curtains ensured the fire didn't spread.
Both officials praised the police and civil defence teams for tirelessly working to put out the fire.
