When the Paris opening ceremony begins on July 26, it will be the first time the city has played host for a century after previous editions in 1924 and 1900
Tasjeel Auto Village in Sharjah is piloting a drive-through car testing service in coordination with the Sharjah Police.
The service ensures adherence to Covid-19 safety measures.
The drive-through centre offers services like checking number plates and mileage; and testing lights, tyres, paint and under-hood condition.
Earlier, basic testing and registration services required a physical inspection. With the new service, motorists can complete their vehicle inspections from the comfort of their vehicles "within two minutes".
A testing report is then ready for customers at the checkout point.
Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, Enoc Group, said: “The Covid-19 outbreak has forced many organisations to re-evaluate how they run their operations and we took it upon us to turn these challenges into opportunities.
“We are hopeful to receive a positive outcome from this pilot.”
The visual renewal inspection service is available for 2015 and after models.
The centre will be open from Saturday to Thursday from 7am to 9pm. The pilot service will be on for three months.
