Residents breathed a sigh of relief late on Tuesday after the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) managed to fix a major water pipe in the emirate.
The water supply had been interrupted for almost three days in the emirate, according to residents.
Areas of Al Dheit, Al Maamura, Sadruwa and the Old RAK city were most affected by the unexpected breakdown in the 600mm water pipe, according to a senior Fewa official.
Mohammed Khalil Al Shamsi, Director of Corporate Communications, Fewa, said staff technicians and maintenance teams of the authority in the northern region of the emirate rushed to the site and fixed the big breakdown.
"Fewa has also compensated residents of affected areas by pumping water for longer hours so that all needs are satisfactorily met. We also spare no effort to cut down the time needed for maintenance work," he added.
Al Shamsi said: "Currently, Fewa is replacing all the old networks with new polyethylene ones to stop repetitive disruptions and avoid the loss of water."
Abdullah Saleh, an Emirati from the Old RAK city, said they spent three difficult days due to the unexpected water cut.
"It took a long time to fix the breakdown and we could not help buying water to meet cooking, washing and cleaning works."
Ali Saeed, an Emirati man from Maamura, had earlier complained that they were shocked with a sudden cut in water. "We had to buy water to fulfil our house needs."
Mohammed Abdulrazzaq, an Emirati man from Sadruwa area, urged the bodies concerned to take immediate action to handle such emergency situations.
Ahmed Sulaiman, an Emirati from Al Dheit area, said the water cut gave his family hard time mainly in the morning hours.
"Fewa has to alert the public about any planned maintenance or replacement works in the water network in advance so that ready will be prepared to meet the situation."
