All cinemas and wedding halls in Ras Al Khaimah may now reopen, provided that all Covid-19 precautionary measures are followed, the emirate's department of economic development has announced.
Employees working in these places must be screened for Covid-19 prior to opening, sources have said.
During operations, temperature checks must also be done for both staff and customers. Anyone with fever or respiratory issues shall not be permitted to enter the premises.
All other safety rules - like wearing masks and gloves; making hand sanitisers available; and regular disinfection - will apply, sources said.
In addition to general precautions, specific protocols have also been identified for cinemas and wedding halls.
CINEMAS
. Seniors aged 70 and older and people with respiratory issues are not allowed to enter cinemas
. Cinema halls must be disinfected for at least 20 minutes after every show
. Social distancing signs must be placed and some rows must be left empty
. Touchscreen ticketing devices must be closed, and customers must be advised to purchase tickets online
. Moviegoers are allowed to bring their own food and beverage to reduce gatherings at food courts, but these snacks must be in disposable containers. Opt for small, solo packs of food for each person and refrain from sharing as much as possible
. Screenings of 3D and 4D movies will be prohibited
. Blankets may not be distributed in gold and platinum halls
. Movies must not be played at the same time to avoid crowding at the main entrance
WEDDING HALLS
. Staff members at wedding halls must change their head covers after preparing every meal
. Trash cans with foot pedals must be placed at every corner
. Posters detailing safety guidelines must be put up at entry and exit points
. Wedding halls must coordinate functions with the community police at least one day before the event to ensure public safety
