The Sharjah Municipality has completed decorating the streets of the city and has intensified health inspections to ensure food establishments are following regulations to create a beautiful and healthy atmosphere for the month of Ramadan.

Riyad Ellan, director-general of the Sharjah Municipality, said with the approaching of the holy month, health inspectors have intensified inspections targeting all food outlets, manufacturers, importers, distributors, super markets, groceries, restaurants and public kitchens in all parts of the emirate to ensure that they follow health and hygiene regulations. The inspectors make sure that the food items are stored properly and in the right temperature and does random checking to ensure the food is fit for human consumption.

With regards to decoration, Ellan said the municipality has completed decorating all squares, roundabouts and government buildings with colourful lights. The decorations will continue during Eid.

He pointed out that in coordinations with Sharjah charity organisation; the municipality has launched five Iftar tents to provide free Iftars to 3,200 workers in various industrial areas. The municipality will also distribute free Iftar to motorists throughout the month so that people do not have to drive fast to break their fast.


Timings during holy month

Working hours for all municipality services centres will be from 9am to 2pm. The working hours for lease attestation in industrial area No. 5 will be from 8am to 4pm.
Public health clinics will work from 9am to 2pm and in the evening from 9pm to 11pm.
He said the municipality has launched online services that make it convenient for the people.


Parking timings

Attif Al Zarouni, director of the Parking Department at the Sharjah Municipality, said the parking charges will start from 8am 1pm and from 7pm to midnight.


Park timings

Hanan Jasim, head of the parks activities, said all residential parks will work from 8am to 1am except four parks - Al Safiaya, Al Mahattah, Abu Shagara and Al Nahda parks which will open its doors for the visitors from 4pm to 1am.

Al Muntazah National Park will be open from 8pm to 1am.
