A delegation from Egypt arrived in Israel on Friday hoping to revive the truce negotiations
The central operations room of the RAK Police immediately dispatched civil defence teams, police, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in a record time, after having been alerted of the incident.
Col Ali Al Mahbubi, Deputy Director of the RAK Civil Defence department, said they were alerted that the female domestic helper, identified only as L.J., accidentally lost her balance and fell into a 15 metre deep water well around 7.50pm.
"The civil defence team managed to lift out the 48-year-old women, who received minor injuries, and rushed her to the nearest hospital for treatment and medical care."
Col Al Mahbubi urged all members of the society and farm owners to observe safety rules and conditions, particularly at water wells.
"Water wells should never ever be left uncovered, and they should also be sealed with high walls to avoid such incidents," he said.
Earlier in 2015, an Asian worker succumbed to fatal injuries he received after falling into an 18-metre deep water well and drowned at Khat area, 15km south east of Ras Al Khaimah city.
Some eye witnesses and sources told Khaleej Times that the victim, along with three other workers, were busy widening a water well in a local farm.
