Just two days ago, Indian expat Harikrishnan V. Nair had won Dh12 million in an Abu Dhabi raffle. On Tuesday, it was the turn of Muhammad Akbar Khan, from Islamabad, to shine. He won $1 million in a Dubai Duty Free (DDF) raffle.
Khan, who could not be reached for comment, held ticket no. 1915. in series 261.
A car and two motorbike winners were also announced by DDF, which held its first draw of 2018.
Tsubasa Mizogami, a Japanese national from Hanoi, Vietnam, won the BMW i8 Crystal White Pearl car.
Clara Lasrado, an Indian national based in Dubai, and Dmitri, a Russian national from St. Petersburg, drove home the BMW S 1000 XR Ocean Blue and the BMW R 1200 RS Frozen Bronze Black motorcycles, respectively.
Lasrado, who had purchased the ticket on her way to India for a holiday, said: "It was an unexpected call and I was really surprised. Big thank you Dubai Duty Free."
