The Dubai Police received 20,589 calls during the three-day Eid Al Fitr holiday, said Brigadier Kamil Butti Al Suwaidi, head of the Operations Department at the Dubai Police. Al Suwaidi added that a majority of those were non-urgent calls and hence urged people to call the 999 only in the case of emergency.
Al Suwaidi said that the Dubai Police is keen on launching more awareness campaigns as such initiatives had helped to bring down traffic accidents during Eid this year.
He said for non-emergency cases people can call 901. They should call 901 if they have any queries about the Dubai Police services such as how to obtain certain certificates, burial permissions or how to participate in housing programmes.
