Al Ahamadiya is one of several community parks that are being constructed in several residential areas in the emirate. Mr. Al Hamrani said that the new park has fun games for children and rides, benches, play areas for children, barbecue areas, water fountain, shaded areas and a special area for people with special needs. “The park is also decorated and adorned with different types of palm trees and flowers,” Mr. Al Hamrani explained.
He noted that several beautification projects are being conducted by the Agriculture section of the municipality at different sites in the emirate such as plantation of a large number of palm trees and different types of flowers as well as expanding the green zone in Al Mushairif and Al Jarf.
The municipality is planning to plant trees in a 16,268 square metre area along Al Mushairif Road, and construct a new roundabout over an area of 3,000 square metres. Afforestation projects at different roads, roundabouts and public squares are also part of the municipality plans for the current year.
“The municipality is keen on increasing the number of parks in the emirate, and on planting as many palm trees as possible, since the palm is part of the national heritage,” Mr Al Hamrani explained.
