While Dubai provides world class health care facilities, knowing the basics on what to do can help save a life.
Here are some tips on how to deal with medical emergencies in Dubai:
1: In situations where you suddenly take ill, try to go to the nearest hospital immediately if your conditions allows. If any of your colleague, family members or friends are facing medical emergency, try to take the patient to the hospital at the earliest. Staying informed about the location of nearest health center and hospital around your home and work place in Dubai is very important.
2: Call 998/999 for the ambulance. Explain briefly to the operator the seriousness of the situation. Make sure to ask about the medical assistance provided in the ambulance.  According to the website of the Government of Dubai, "call 999 for a government ambulance or to call the police for any emergency. The number 999 can be used for any emergency situation when you need to get in touch with the police or ambulance services."
3: If the patient is unable to move due to the seriousness of their condition, one can call 800-362867 for getting a private doctor or paramedic at home.
4: Once you arrive at the hospital, visit the emergency department directly. Make sure you are aware of which hospitals and services are covered under your medical insurance.
5: If you are alone, immediately call or message friends or acquaintances for help.
