Suhail Abdul Latif Galadari, Director, Khaleej Times, was among nine personalities honoured in Dubai recently for their contribution in creating jobs through entrepreneurship. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, handed over the award to Galadari during the annual Pakistani Executives Organisation for Promotion of Leadership and Entrepreneurship (PEOPLE) awards.
Galadari was acknowledged as an "inspirational advocate of media business which enabled job creation in Dubai".
Founded in 2011, PEOPLE is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation that has helped strengthen ties between Emiratis and Pakistanis.
Sheikh Nahyan highlighted how the close business relations between the UAE and Pakistan promote respect, understanding and appreciation for one another.
The awards honoured outstanding Emiratis and Pakistanis who have positively influenced society through their achievements in business leadership, media, humanitarian contribution, and women empowerment.
Additionally, one special award was given to Muhammad Haseeb Ur Rehman, a blue-collar worker, who topped the English language class provided for free by SmartLife Foundation. Hikmat Al Kaitoob bagged an award for her philanthropic efforts towards women empowerment, while Imran Chaudhry was honoured for his support to charitable hospitals and educational platforms.
