Neetu Kawad who was being flown to India in an air ambulance died before she could be given emergency treatment there.
In a tragic accident that took place on Emirates Road on January 22, an Indian woman who had lost her husband on the spot and was battling for her life, died on Monday.
Neetu Jain Kawad, 38, had suffered serious injuries in the accident and had slipped into a coma, was being treated at a hospital in Dubai.
Neetu died while she was being flown back to India in an air ambulance, two weeks after her husband Dinesh Kawad, 40, was killed in the accident. The couple hailed from the South Indian city of Bengaluru and were on a vacation here when their minibus collided with a truck near Al Aweer area.
The couple, who lived in Bellary, Karnataka, had a garments business there and had left behind their 11-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter with grandparents when they came to Dubai on a leisure trip.
The accident killed Kawad, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the minibus, and the Pakistani driver, on the spot. While an Italian tourist's wife, who was reportedly three months pregnant, died due to injuries later. There was also a Chinese couple and the Italian man who survived with minor injuries.
