Happy days are ahead for some employees at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.

In a continuation of the initiatives held in response to World Happiness Day on March 20, the government body made a "happiness box" for its employees, and the names drawn from the box got themselves a two-day paid holiday.

"The visa and residence permit department at the GDRFA launched the 'Happiness Box' in the presence of Colonel Omar Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General of Visa and Residence Permits, and Lieutenant Colonel Jasim Al Ahli, Visa Director," GDRFA said.

"Employee names were written and randomly drawn from the box. The winners got two days' paid leave. Making people happy is our goal," it added.
