Starting January 1, 2017, the Sharjah government entities will levy a fee of Dh10 for government transactions.
The additional fee will only be applicable on transactions whose fees are above Dh50.
The move was approved by the Sharjah Executive Council during its meeting chaired by Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, on Tuesday.
Transactions for medical treatment and health care services at any hospitals, clinics and medical centres operating in Sharjah are exempted from this levy.
The move comes as part of Sharjah's efforts to enhance the participation of individuals and community organisations in boosting scientific research.
