Jassim Omran Jassim, Director of Fewa office in Ajman said that the new premises which is currently under construction will be handed over to Fewa in Ajman in April 2005. The large building will be equipped with highly computerised modern technology to enhance the services rendered to the public.
He added that the Fewa officials were aware of the of customers’ complaints concerning their waiting in long queues to pay their bills, due to the less number of cashiers in the existing small building.
“It is because of the small space in this building and the suffering of our customers we decided to move to a new premises that will accommodate large bills payment centres with several counters. We are sure that better services will be provided to over 450,000 clients in Ajman,” Jassim said.
The new building will help in solving the problem of bill payment rush, as it will be designed to meet all public demands and ensure best services.
“A large costumer services centre that will handle the complaints and problems will also be part of it,” he added.
Jassim attributed the rush noticed recently to the fact that last month’s bills were not sent to the costumers in Ajman, because of the closure of departments due to the mourning period following the demise of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the Eid holidays.
“But since all costumers received their bills, they are not rushing to the payment centre to settle their dues.”
He pointed out that the officials of Fewa are making efforts to facilitate the bill payments in all emirates by developing an electronic payments system that will reduce the rush at the payment centres. The payment will also be possible easily through government banks.
