A Gulf citizen has been jailed for three years for firing an air gun at a police patrol that was enforcing a court oder. According to court records, the case unfolded when the man's ex-wife lodged a complaint with the Ras Al Khaimah Police after he failed to pay her alimony as ordered by a local court.

As a police patrol approached him to hand over the official court notification letter, he fired at them. The public prosecution charged him with attacking a police patrol and failing to pay alimony.
