I am a French national married to an Emirati man. My UAE visa is sponsored by my son, who is also an Emirati national. I have a 12-year-old daughter from my first marriage, who is a French national. I intend to get a residence visa for my daughter in the UAE. Can my son sponsor it?

You may make an application as a special case to General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department (the 'DNRD') as in normal course your Emirati national son may not be able to sponsor the residency of your daughter from your previous marriage. The approval of the application is solely at the discretion of DNRD. You may contact DNRD for further enquiries and clarifications.

Know the law
A woman's Emirati national son from her present marriage to an Emirati man may not be able to sponsor the residency of her daughter by a previous marriage.
