Fujairah - Two Iran nationals were on Tuesday sentenced each to four years in jail for consuming and possessing drugs by the Fujairah Criminal Court.
The court has also ordered to deport them after the completion of their jail term.
According to court records, a team from the anti-narcotics section of Fujairah Police found 28-year-old A.G.A and 33-year-old H.S, in a suspicious situation. The duo were asked to pull over their vehicle; and in a search, the police team found hashish in their car.
The pair was sent to Fujairah Hospital, where samples of their urine were taken for lab test. The results of the tests showed that the duo had consumed drugs.
On interrogation, they confessed that the hashish found in the car was theirs, and it was for consumption only.
They were referred to the Pubic Prosecution on charges of possessing and consuming narcotics. They were sent by the criminal court, which found them guilty based on the charges levelled against them.
