Nestled between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road is a green patch of gated community hundreds call home. This one is called Remraam, named after the Remraam plant that grows abundantly in the UAE.
Remraam community is dotted with spacious low-rise apartments located in an area of Dubailand known for its natural views and greenery. It offers 15,000 residents a mix of nature and modern lifestyle facilities and is split into two distinct areas - Al Thamam and Al Ramth - that offer residents a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments in clusters which reflect contemporary architecture.
The peaceful lush green community started taking shape in 2007, and its first phase Al Thamam was handed over to owners in 2013. The developer of the area is Dubai Properties which is a subsidiary of Dubai Holdings. Located close to Al Maktoum International Airport and now the Expo 2020 site, properties in Remraam consist of apartments available for both rent and sale.
While direct access to Emirates Road and Hessa Street is helpful for daily commuters, Remraam is also close to Motor City and a 15-minute drive from Al Maktoum International Airport.
Resident of the area Tanuja Karki says the family-oriented area offers a perfect balance of serenity as well as accessibility to the busy areas conveniently. "It is a lovely area with a lot of gardens in it and a number of play areas for the kids - 13 to be precise. Not only is it spick and span but is also very well designed with designated parking areas, walking tracks, gardens, basket ball and tennis courts and recreational areas. For residents and tenants, there is common parking at the ground level of each building. I have been here for a year now and absolutely love it. The only issue here could be for those without their own vehicles as public transport here is not that great as compared to other areas of Dubai. But the speed with which the area is developing, I am sure this will be taken care of soon."
Tanuja, who lives with her husband Shiv and son Atharv, added: "Recently they have opened restaurants, cafes and grocery shops in the locality that has added to our convenience. When we shifted here a about a year ago, there was a lot of construction taking place but in just a year, all of that is done and new buildings and shopping centres have come up, adding more value to this place."
The community offers plenty of facilities to improve residents' quality of life, with a mosque, 20 pocket parks, foosball tables, giant game boards and chess sets and has over 5.8 million square feet of green space. To facilitate physically active residents, Remraam also provides community pools as well as two basketball and two tennis courts. The community also houses a specialised gym, volleyball court and a football court. It also offers 37 building podiums with play and BBQ areas.
Dubai Asset Management, DP Community Management and Dubai Retail ensure that the community is well furnished with numerous activities throughout the cooler months of the year. From markets to food festivals, competitions, Halloween and Christmas celebrations, pool parties and movie nights, the events are designed to bring the community together and create a place to call home. In addition to community events, Remraam also runs a #Neighbourgood programme where members of the community are showered with random acts of kindness, including roses for mums on Mother's Day. The rent and sale price of all the units in Remraam are based on different factors such as the specific location of the apartment, the size of the balcony and if the apartment has a closed or open kitchen.
