Go for a 3km run in the snow in peak summer, only in Dubai

Dubai - To be held on August 14, DXB Snow Run is open to residents and visitors, both men and women aged 18-62 years.

Whoever thinks you cannot run in the snow in peak desert summer - has never been to Dubai. Experience how the emirate makes the impossible possible next month and go for a 3km run through the snow at Ski Dubai. 
The DXB Snow Run, organised by Dubai Sports Council in cooperation with Ski Dubai, will be held on August 14, when temperatures are expected to be hovering around mid-to-higher 40s. It will be the world's first snow running competition taking place in summer - and that too, in a desert. 
The unique event is open to residents and visitors, both men and women aged 18-62 years. Participants can use the run to make their personal version of "Cool Runnings", that memorable 1993 movie based on the Jamaica national bobsleigh team's qualification for the 1988 Winter Olympics Games in Calgary, Canada.
The DXB Snow Run is part of Dubai Sports Council's DXB Snow Week, which will be taking place at Ski Dubai in the Mall of Emirates on August 14 and 15, with skiing and snowboarding competitions lined up.  
Those interested in taking part in the run can register online through the website, https://www.premieronline.com/event/dxb_snow_run_5316. Slots will be limited to 300 participants.
The winter and ice sports sector is the third segment to be opened for competition by Dubai Sports Council, following weeks of closure because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The marine sports sector was the first to open for competition in Dubai with Dubai Offshore Sailing Club's Summer Series taking place on June 19. The following weekend, Dubai International Marine Club organised a 'Dubai Watersports Summer Week' in cooperation with Dubai Sports Council, and six different competitions were part of the event. Last weekend, the council opened the doors for beach sports.
