Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Food Bank, has been honoured with an award for humanitarian work.
The Arab Woman Award for humanitarian work recognises her efforts in implementing the 10 million meals campaign - the nation's biggest food distribution drive to support low-income families and individuals affected by Covid-19.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to Twitter to congratulate Sheikha Hind, who is his wife.
"Sheikha Hind is the closest person to the people, and the fastest woman to do good," Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

Launched in April, the 10 million meals campaign saw the distribution of over 15 million meals among Covid-19-hit communities in the country in less than a month.
Sheikha Hind led the campaign that drew donations from 110,000 individuals and companies.
As the campaign ended in May, she had said that the UAE's biggest food distribution drive opened new horizons of humanitarian work by bringing everyone together to support the vulnerable against the global pandemic.
"The overwhelming response that continued, even after the campaign had exceeded its target within the first week, indicates the powerful solidarity of the UAE society," she had said.
