Indian wins $1 million in Dubai Duty Free raffle
Harvinder Singh lived and worked in Dubai for 10 years before moving to Singapore.
A lucky Indian national based in Singapore was announced as the latest $1 million winner in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw held on Wednesday.
Harvinder Singh, a 37-year-old Indian national who recently moved to Singapore after living and working in Dubai for 10 years, became a dollar millionaire in Series 331 with ticket number 2594 that he bought online.
A regular online ticket buyer for eight years now, Singh who now works as a manager for a shipping management company in Singapore, was over the moon and couldn't believe his fortune. He commented: "Thank you Dubai Duty Free. This is indeed a big blessing, and I will see to it to give back to people who are in need during these difficult times. With my winning, I would also be able to start my own business in Mumbai so I can be with my family."
Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, two Dubai expats were announced as winners in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Promotion to win a luxury motorbike each.
Samir Karki, a 33-year-old Nepalese national based in Sharjah, won an Indian Scout Bobber (Thunder Black) in Series 410 with ticket number 0053.
Karki, a regular participant in the Dubai Duty Free promotions for six years now, bought two tickets online for Series 410.
Married with three children, Karki who works for a retail company in Dubai for seven years now, was very happy to know that he finally won in Dubai Duty Free Motorbike promotion.
"Thank you so much Dubai Duty Free, after a long time of trying - my perseverance has finally paid off."
Lastly, Thajudeen Shahulhameed, a 36-year-old Indian national based in Dubai, won an Aprilla Tuono RR (Rosso Sachsenring) in Series 411 with ticket number 0843.
A resident of Dubai for six years, he was delighted to win with his third ticket in the bike promotion which he also purchased online. "Thank you Dubai Duty Free. I am very grateful for this win. The money I will get when I sell the motorbike will help me and my wife, who is currently pregnant."
