He added that the Jebel Ali police station had launched several programmes, initiatives and operations to improve security in the area, including awareness campaigns that target owners of companies and businesses to help them secure their belongings.

Moreover, Al Suwaidi said the police have been monitoring the area to maintain security, detect violations, and protect residents.

As a result of its successful removal of illegal markets, he said Jebel Ali Police station was selected by Dubai Police as the best in combating and preventing environmental offences.

Al Suwaidi added that in 2020, police members from Jebel Ali police station worked to implement the National Sterilization Programme, and fine violators who didn’t abide by the precautionary measures.

He explained that police members do not want to issue fines for violators. Rather, they do so in order to protect them, by making them follow the mandatory precautionary measure announced for their own safety.

“During the pandemic, the police increased the numbers of patrols working on field in Jebel Ali Police station’s area of competence from 11 patrols to 30 patrols to maintain safety and security,” Al Suwaidi said.

Currently, the Police has embarked on a new plan to improve the security in the area, which focuses on preventing negative activities among residents living in the Jebel Ali area, Al Suwaidi noted.
