Divorce among Emirati nationals - if both the spouses are Emiratis - has gone down remarkably, according to a latest report released by the Dubai Statistics Centre.
According to a report published by Arabic daily Al Bayan on Saturday, the divorce rate in such cases was at 3.7 for every 1,000 Emiratis living in Dubai.
The Dubai Statistics Centre report has also revealed that the general divorce rate reported last year stood at 6 for every 1,000 Emiratis living in the emirate, when both spouses are Emiratis or one of the spouse is Emirati.
Beware of unreliable studies The Dubai Statistics Centre warned that there are many 'unreliable' reports related to divorce rates in particular, which are being carried by mass media and studies. These statistics released by unspecialised bodies have no sufficient information and inputs regarding the matter, and are not based on internationally approved scientific approaches. The centre stresses that as such unreliable reports could give a negative impact on society, it is better to depend on the official figures being released by the authorised statistics centers whose outputs are more accurate and reliable. |
